Even 50 years and two days after his birth. Even 3 and a half years after his suicide.

I think he will always remain absolutely brilliant, no matter how many people write his style off as self-indulgent. He, more than any other writer I’ve ever come across, has a way of forcing the reader to think about Big Questions while reading his work, even if it’s a piece on the porn equivalent of the Emmys.

His mind was amazing and I’m glad he shared portions of it with us.
